SEMBLANZA/STATEMENT

Norma Maire Reyes Rodríguez. (Ciudad Juárez, 1995). 

Actualmente cursa la Licenciatura en Artes Visuales en la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez. Realizó una estancia académica en la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo durante 2018. 

Su trabajo parte del análisis de estructuras sociales que generan la trasgresión sexual y el sexismo hacia la mujer en el decurso del tiempo. La figura del ciudadano promedio en el desierto de Ciudad Juárez. Ha realizado proyectos de investigación interdisciplinar en torno a temas como la memoria, transporte público y la frontera. En formatos de fotografía, video, instalación y performance.  

Actualmente Maire trabaja en su proyecto apropiado de Sexismo Cotidiano, y las herramientas que como artista contemporánea utiliza para ello. Habla de las formas de violencia simbólica que se vuelve física, al ser el cuerpo quien percibe todas esas agresiones.

She is currently studying for a degree in Visual Arts at the Universidad Autónoma de  Ciudad Juárez. He made an academic stay at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo during 2018.
Her work is based on the analysis of social structures that generate sexual transgression and sexism towards women in the course of time. Maire is currently working on her proper project of Daily Sexism, and the tools she uses as a contemporary artist. It speaks of the forms of symbolic violence that become physical, as the body perceives all these aggressions.
